Change of plans

Instead of going to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens yesterday, Ray’s parents called and invited us to Q BBQ for a late lunch.  Since it was hot and humid + the opportunity to eat really great ribs, that was an easy decision to go meet them.

I hemmed and hawed over taking my camera gear with thoughts of the usual car trip and been there, done that photo mentality. Ray said take it or you’ll regret it.  He knows me so well.

As we drove the often traveled Route 460 my eyes lit up seeing several places I have wanted to snap before but we were on a schedule and the mid-day light isn’t the best.  I pointed out those places so Ray could help me find them on our way back.

One of the last towns we passed thru has always appealed to me.  It has a very small Main Street USA vibe.  It’s called Waverly and here are my impressions taken just before sunset and the rains came:
