30 Days of Gratitude – Day 4

Family

I go back home just about every month to see Mom, Bren and Jeremy but it’s been 4 long months since I’ve seen Brandon, Kiesha and Chance. I’ve been anticipating their visit for several months now and it finally happened yesterday!

Jeremy surprised me by joining us and we took a family photo.

We had lunch together and then Chance rode with us to Nanny’s. Chance entertained us by talking the whole way there. Car, truck, bridge, trees are just a few words in his vocabulary but most popular is TRAIN. It’s déjà vu all over again. He’s just like his daddy and Uncle J when they were that age.

Another wonderful group of family members were waiting for us as we arrived at Nanny’s. My sister Deb, her husband Wayne and our newly wedded niece Moni had made the 3.5 hour trip to see Brandon et al. Moni brought tears to my eyes with a beautifully written thank you note for Ray and me for photographing their wedding and the best gift of a photo montage of my FAMILY taken over the last 3 decades.  Moments captured that I didn’t have in my own photo collection! BEST GIFT EVER!  Bren and Rich arrived shortly after with Twinkie Lola Falana – wunderdog.

I didn’t get to spend nearly enough time with each member of my family but I can tell you I treasured every single moment with Chance. He was very free with his hugs and kisses and as I tell everyone my GiGi heart meter is overflowing right now.
