Light painting is placing an object in a dark room and shining light on it while your camera is on a tripod with an open shutter for 30 seconds or so. Sounds easy right? I wasn’t that inspired after a long day at work. But it’s lovely to highlight my lovely owl that my sister Brenda gave me for my last birthday.
Ray was my capable assistant playing with different small flashlights. I will have to try this again when I’m more energetic. Examples on the CY365 are pretty cool.
Leaving work tonight, I noticed that the parking lot lights highlight the trees more than the vehicles. But I think the trees are glowing!
88 Look for the Light
I let time get away from me today. After cooking and eating dinner there was only a little time left with the sun. I hurried outside but the area surrounding the apartment complex wasn’t what I was looking for today. I did shoot several images with sunburst and would have made do with them. As I returned into the courtyard I looked up at the lamp-post and spied the moon. A perfect juxtaposition for my photo of the day.
Have a wonderful week everyone!
I think I have a fever – Spring Fever! The only cure is more cowbell. No really, I need the sunshine and warmer temperatures. I’m ready to think about taking care of flowers out on the balcony, switching out my wardrobe for brighter colors with lighter fabrics. Basically it’s all about SPRING!
Today we had snow flurries. I made myself go out after bundling up and putting my warm winter boots on. Those same boots I almost packed up last week. Ha! I walked the trails behind the apartment complex and saw a lot of leaves left over from autumn that were basically dangling by vines. Most of them were low to the ground and had a lot of other things going on in the frame. I took about 30 frames. This was the very last shot. I looked up at the sky and saw them. Leaves. In silhouette against the dark cloudy sky. The flurries kicked up again to teach me a lesson.
It will be spring when God is ready to bring it!
Easy enough to find a reflection since we have had rain for several days!
26 Escape from the Everyday
Sometimes the photo prompts annoy me. Escape from the everyday? I have to work! This shot was taken with my iPhone and new Olloclip macro lens.
25 Go For a Drive
I’ve been a grumpy camper this week. The photo above was taken outside my dentist’s office. Yes. Ugh. Just a cleaning this time. But I still had anxiety. Going back during spring break for more work. This shot was also taken with my iPhone. I really “just phoned it in” that day.
I am making myself got out so maybe I can capture something interesting for today’s prompt – Hanging. I won’t be macabre, no.
I just realized that all three of these were taken with my iPhone. Helps to make my life easier with working!
Color or Black and White?
Ray prefers the color shot because there is new growth in the grass. I prefer the stark black and white mainly because the sky is so blown out!
Do you have a preference?
