151 On the Loose

Simon thinks he’s out picking strawberries but he’s not!

My Lego friends have been cooped up way too long!  Simon Stone decided to go out on the balcony and explore my plants.  He thought he spied some strawberries but those are my baby geraniums!  Oh no!

Where is Bud when I need him?  {Bud is my feline garden helper}

150 Keepsake

150 Keepsake

There have been several members of the CY365 Facebook community that have been sharing poignant photographs of their mother’s hands.

The locket was her oldest sister’s. Mom doesn’t have many keepsakes that are things but she has lots of photographs of loved ones.  Now this is one of mine.

149 – Fairy Tale

Cheryl, aka my bff, is up from Florida this week. She’s clearing out her mother’s house to sell it so there are lots of interesting “props” around!

I hadn’t a clue what my photo would be but we poked around and found this cheerleader mega horn which makes a great fairy godmother hat and Cheryl added the winter scarf to look part!

Bippity bobbity boo!

At this moment, Bud is disappointed that he isn’t on the balcony.  It sprinkled earlier and now the lawn maintenance crew is outside making an awful racket. Bud might look fierce but he is really a ‘fraidy cat and the big, loud weed eaters scare him!

Yesterday the fur boys kept staring at the corner of our bed.  I had to grab my courage and lift the corner of the comforter and then the bed skirt…what did I find?  Somebody had pulled a walking shoe from the nether regions of the under-bed world and dragged it to the corner of the bed.  I was worried there was a critter – more worried about a spider than anything else…but when I picked up the shoe there was nothing else there.  But the cats kept staring at THE SHOE!  Really?!!

My cats are spooked by a gray and pink walking shoe…Scaredy cats!!!

147 Spark a Memory

147 Spark a Memory

One memento reminds me of my children when they were young – my sister Brenda would buy Sculpey for the boys to create lovely little gifts for me. The jewelry dish was made by Jeremy (he carved his name right next to the heart inside) and the second memento this letter from Brandon as a grown man, a soldier, was my first correspondence from him while he was in Basic Training.  I cried when I read it.

I love these two sons of mine so very much. I’m so grateful that I was able to be home with them until they went to kindergarten. Although I couldn’t buy them everything they wanted I believe they know they were loved by me.  I also think they are better people because I couldn’t buy them everything they wanted. Lol.

They had to pay for their own car insurance after they got their first jobs and I think this made them responsible.

I’m so very proud of the men that they have become and I miss them being a part of my 24 hour day, every day life.  Those years went by so quickly!
